Home-made Tangy Tomato Chutney 🍅🍅🍅

Hello Again, How many of you are chutney obsessed & love chutney literally with everything (like with paratha, dosa or let it be simple daal rice only ) we all want it badly right . Especially in this lockdown we are craving for spicy and tangy chutney where there are minimal supplies. 
So without wasting any more time, Let's see the ingredients & recipe.

Ingredients: 
  • 500 gm /1 Kg Fresh red tomatoes.
  • 8 to 10 garlic cloves.
  • 3 to 4 green chillies.
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds (rai seeds).
  • 2tsp salt for 500 gm / 3-1/2 for 1 Kg (according to taste).
  • few Curry leaves.
  • Oil for tadka.
Recipe : 
  • Wash the tomatoes & chillies properly and keep aside. Peel the garlic cloves and keep it. 
  • Cut the tomatoes into 4 halves & now take a cooking pan /steamer /kadhai & put tomatoes in this pan. 
  • Add garlic cloves & chillies, add the salt too and cover the container with a lid. 
  • Put the gas in low flame and stir tomatoes occasionally. 
  • Once tomatoes juice is all soaked up & it became mushy, turn off the gas & keep chutney to get cool properly. (preferably good 4 to 5 hours to cool ). 
  • Now make the paste with the help of grinder & set aside. 
  • Take another pan, put 2 spoon oil following by mustard seeds & curry leaves. 
  • Put the chutney paste for tadka  & stir the same for 1 minute & turn off the gas. 
  • Once cooled properly, store the chutney in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for 1-2 weeks. 
Note * - Taking tomatoes which are partially riped is best for chutney.
